A3 ~ CU School of Business Economics Presentation: The Costly Reality of Go-Backs

Instructor:

Tim Coleman ~ Closet Industry Financial Analyst

How do I Know What the Cost of a Go-Back Really is for My Company?

From the Magic #’s Collection of spreadsheets being presented in the Main Ballroom on Friday at noon. Take a deeper dive into how this is calculated using just an Excel spreadsheet, which Tim will give out to all who ask.  We will do this together, and you can answer your own questions, and really know and believe what the costs are.  The best part is taking this spreadsheet back to your business and asking your team to help fill it out.  When they do, they will be shocked, and this one spreadsheet can really affect a paradigm shift in the minds of your team!

About the Instructor:

In 1988 Tim Coleman started his closet business selling wire shelving out of his house, by 2008 he opened an 8,300-sf showroom designing and selling not just wire shelving, but also laminate systems, garage doors & openers, bath hardware, storm rooms, and was a Hunter Douglas Window, Blinds, Shades, & Shutters dealer. Tim’s philosophy was to be what he calls a “50%-50% company”. Having half the revenue coming from retail homeowners and the other half coming from new construction builders.
Making it through the recession, Tim successfully sold his business in 2017, and in 2021 took over SCE Unlimited. Part of the IBP family, a $3 billion publicly traded company, with almost 250 locations throughout the United States.
Tim believes in the philosophy that “none of us is as smart as all of us”. The knowledge he shares is a result of learning from others, reading lots of books, and through the school of experiences.
Attendees have commented that attending one of Tim’s talks is like attending a classroom, which aligns with Tim’s style of Inspiration through Education!
